Friday February 11th

 Hi families

Just some updates to be aware of for next week! Students will have NO SCHOOL on February 17th and 18th due to Teacher's Convention.  Student's also have NO SCHOOL on Monday February 21st.  I hope everyone has an amazing long weekend and gets to enjoy some family time!  Since it is a short week, homework will come home on the 14th, however it is not required to be handed in until the 25th.

Monday the February 14th is Valentine's Day! Students are invited to pass out Valentine's to each other; all students names are posted on the Blog in an earlier post:) Monday is also a casual day and students can wear red, pink and/or purple!

 Friday February 4th!

We had a blast yesterday at Telus Sparks for our first off campus field trip since the Covid Pandemic hit! A huge thank you to the parents who contacted me and were able to volunteer.  Without you, we would not have been able to make this day possible for the students.  A reminder to other parents of Grade 3 Room 8, please apply for a Police Security Clearance so that you may help us in the future.  Please call the office to get this process started, I promise it is simple and painless process😊.

I took several photos of the students and the Science center, unfortunately... my phone and computer will not talk with one another today, so I will try to get some pics uploaded to the Blog on the weekend.  Just a reminder that we do not post children's faces on any Social Media Platform, so it will be mostly of the center.  I will put their actual pictures into the visual journals they will be bringing home at the end of this year.

Valentines!

Yes valentines is just around the corner and takes place on Monday February 14th.  Students will be allowed to hand out cards and receive Valentine's Cards.  If you are sending cards, please make sure you have one card per child.  I am listing the first names of our students below.  Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have a "party" so outside treats can not be sent in, but you are more then welcome to send a special treat for your own child in their snack kit that day.

Student Names:

Feras, Yaseen, Aarav, Diti, Yotam, Sasha, Sophia, Jaivika, Hailen, Abi, Lydia, Niyousha, Matthias, Adeola, Yug, Aaradhya, Eusebiu, Makar, Affan, Vrihaa, Zia, Vedhang, Mahi, Max, Hana

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

 Hi Families,

I am still in search of parent volunteers for our upcoming field trip to Telus Spark on Thursday February, 3rd.  Volunteers need to have a security clearance that has been processed through CBE as well as proof of vaccinations.  The extra requirement of vaccinations has made finding volunteers more difficult.  If you  have clearance and vaccinations please email me at ldkowalczyk@cbe.ab.ca if you are able to volunteer.  If we do not have enough adult to student ratio, we will have to cancel our trip.  It has been so long since students have been able to go off campus for a learning experience because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  I would hate to see them miss out on this opportunity.

For parents who do not have clearance, I would suggest contacting our school so that you may participate in any future upcoming trips.

Thank you,

Mrs. Kowalczyk

 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

I am so excited to announce that we will be heading out for an off campus field trip to Telus Sparks! This will be an all day field trip on Thursday February 3rd and will help students learn more about the Science topic "Hearing and Sound". I am in need of volunteers that have a cleared police security clearance AND QR codes to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19.  Please email me if you are able to volunteer for our field trip.  Mrs. Taylor will be scanning QR codes the morning before we leave, and Telus will also be scanning so please ensure you have proof of vaccinations prior to offering to volunteer.  PLEASE also bring a paper copy of vaccinations, in case QR code scanners are not working!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Welcome back students!

We had a successful first week back after the extended winter break.  The students quickly adjusted back to the routines and engaged in the learning.  With the outbreak of Covid on the rise, please be sure to assess your child before they head to school in order to ensure they are healthy.  We should be receiving masks and rapid tests for the students early next week.
