September 17th
Wow! What a busy week! The students were fabulous and worked hard on all their tasks this week. Today was our first day of options. The students chose the option they wanted to participate in and explored one of the following: choir, game boards, drawing, computers or reader's theater. Ask your child what option they participated in! Students also had their first spelling test, and homework was handed in. Check your child's yellow folder for their marked spelling test. Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure your child is completing their homework and are handing it in in time and this is a mandatory component of TLC.
We are working on:
Math: Addition, subtraction, representing 3-digit numbers, Growing Patterns
Social Studies: We have been reviewing Canada and Mapping Skills. Students have also been discussing "needs and wants" and how they contribute to Quality of Life.
Science: We are learning about animals and classification. This week we explored mammals and birds.
Language Arts: Sentence structure and paragraph writing

The Love of Reading Campaign
We are thrilled and excited that our school has been adopted by Chapters Chinook! Our school is going to receive every dollar raised to support our library and receive an additional 30% discount off books when we shop at Indigo & Chapters program donations. These funds will go long way to bringing more diverse and inclusive picture books to our classrooms.
