Friday June 24th

Hard to believe this is our last Friday!  It has been an amazing fun-filled year, with lots of learning and growth.  I am proud of each and every student that I have had the pleasure of teaching this year in Grade 3. I am struggling a bit at the end of this year, more than others as my students will all be moving to a newschool for Grade 4.  In previous years, I had the comfort of knowing that the majority of my students would still be in the school the following year, and so I am feeling quite sad that I will no longer see many of these wonderful kids.  I hope that as time goes by, that many reach out through email, or stop by Le Roi Daniels to say hello.

Sports Day

Our sports day has been moved to Monday June 27th due to the rain.  Students are being mixed into teams within grade 3 and are asked to wear specific coloured shirts to match their team.  Please see below for team colors.

Orange: Yaseen, Aarav, Aardhya

Black: Feras, Yotam, Yug, Zia

Red: Diti, Sasha, Niyousha, Eusebiu

Green: Hailen, Affan, Lydia, Adeola

Purple: Sophia, Abigail, Makar

White: Vedhang, Matthias, Jaivika, Vrihaa

 Hi Families!

A lot is happening this month, so please make sure you are checking the blog and emails from school!

Field Trips:

Our class along with Mr. Hake's class will be going on a Bridge walk to sketch and make observations about various bridge designs.  This will be happening on Wednesday May 18th. Thank you to the parents that emailed and volunteered! We are waiting on bussing information to confirm that the Calgary Zoo trip can go ahead, I will keep you and the student's updated on this one as information becomes available.  Please make sure students are appropriately dressed for the weather on the field trip day(s) and are in formal uniform, wearing comfortable shoes for walking.  Please provide a healthy lunch and large water bottle that can fit in their backpacks.

Assembly:

The Grade 3's will be hosting an assembly on May 30th.  The theme is all about being leaders and making a positive difference in our local and global community.  This assembly will be sent home for parents to view through a video format.  Please send in baby photos!!

Testing various materials for their properties

Hello Families,

Please note the following information:

We will be travelling downtown on Wednesday May 18th to explore various bridges as part of our building unit in Science.  I will be needing parent volunteers to assist in this field trip.  If you are able to volunteer and have a police security clearance please send me an email at ldkowalczyk@cbe.ab.ca

Grade 3 students will also be hosting a Character Education Assembly towards the end of May. Our theme for the assembly is based around Global Citizenship and making a positive difference in the local and global community.  As part of the assembly the Grade 3 teachers would like to make a slideshow featuring our Grade 3 students as babies.  This will be a sweet way to say farewell to our Grade 3's and showcase how our world's future is in the hands of these babies:) We are asking parents to please email a baby photo to their classroom teacher by May 13th so that we can compile and make the slideshow in time for the assembly.

UPDATE: We also have a tentative field trip booked Tuesday May 17th for the Calgary Zoo.  This will depend on bussing availability.  Please email me if you have a police security clearance and are able to volunteer on the 17th and/or 18th
